Design Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Design Architect to lead the creation of user experiences for complex enterprise applications at Wilhelmsen Port Services in Chennai. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on design, ensuring our digital products meet global standards while supporting local port operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design architecture for custom enterprise applications across web, mobile and tablet platforms.
• Lead experience and interaction design for Salesforce implementations and non‑Salesforce solutions.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, developers, testers and support teams to guarantee scalability, usability and technical feasibility.
• Translate business requirements into user journeys, wireframes and high‑fidelity prototypes.
• Define, maintain and govern a Figma‑based design system, ensuring alignment with the Salesforce Lightning Design System.
• Review UI implementations, guide developers on LWC and custom UI frameworks, and mentor UI developers and visual designers.
• Drive design reviews, usability validation and stakeholder walkthroughs, and support workshops and on‑site engagements.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in UX/UI, experience design or application design.
• Proven track record designing custom enterprise applications, especially on the Salesforce platform.
• Strong ability to work independently and make design decisions with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Salesforce platform expertise, including Lightning Experience and custom UI constraints.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma and design system creation.
• Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC) and other custom UI frameworks.
• Design for web, mobile and tablet form factors, with a deep understanding of user‑centred design, accessibility and enterprise UX standards.
