Deputy/General Manager – South Lead Land Acquisition (Renewable Energy)

About the role

The position leads end‑to‑end land acquisition, aggregation, and statutory approvals for wind, solar, hybrid and BESS projects across South India, primarily Karnataka. The role ensures timely delivery of encumbrance‑free land parcels to support project execution while maintaining strong relationships with landowners, government authorities and local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure large contiguous land parcels based on resource potential, transmission connectivity and environmental criteria.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, aggregators and consultants for leasing or purchase agreements.
• Coordinate with Revenue, Forest, Registration, Panchayat and other government bodies to obtain necessary approvals and resolve statutory issues.
• Oversee title verification, land due diligence, registration, mutation, conversion and documentation.
• Manage Right‑of‑Way (RoW) negotiations, land disputes, compensation matters and community grievances.
• Support acquisition of transmission corridors and grid connectivity requirements.
• Drive multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring governance, compliance and adherence to aggressive timelines.

Required profile

• 18–20 years of experience in land acquisition, preferably within renewable energy projects.
• Graduation mandatory; MBA or PGDM preferred.
• Deep understanding of Karnataka land laws, revenue and forest department processes.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, manage stakeholder relationships and navigate complex government liaison.
• Strong track record of delivering encumbrance‑free land on schedule.
