Deputy Manager – Legal & Secretarial (Mumbai)

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Manager – Legal & Secretarial to support compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate governance and board processes for our e‑commerce and retail business in Mumbai.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely compliance under the Companies Act, 2013 and prepare and file forms with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) while coordinating corporate actions.
• Liaise with regulators such as MCA, ROC, SEBI, RBI and the holding company on matters including FEMA.
• Assist in convening, conducting and documenting Board, Committee and General Meetings, drafting notices, agendas, resolutions and minutes.
• Support secretarial auditors, prepare the annual secretarial compliance report and disclosures under SEBI regulations.
• Maintain records for internal and statutory audits, manage the online compliance management tool and conduct periodic compliance reviews and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance trackers, filing schedules and monitor regulatory updates to assess impact on business operations.

Required profile

• Qualified Company Secretary (ACS); LLB preferred.
• Approximately 6‑8 years of relevant experience, preferably with a practicing CS firm or law firm.
• Strong knowledge of the Companies Act and corporate law, high integrity and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the MCA portal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
