Deputy Manager – Application Engineer (North Region)

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Application Engineer will lead technical studies and product validation for YEMI's diesel engine portfolio in the North Region of India. You will act as the bridge between customers, OEMs, and internal engineering teams to ensure product feasibility, timely delivery, and high‑quality installations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled meetings with OEMs, review customer requirements and perform application feasibility studies using Application Engineering Bulletins.
• Lead cross‑functional design reviews, allocate project tasks to engineering teams, and track progress against agreed timelines.
• Coordinate installation quality assurance, product validation (EIR) and field validation of new engine designs.
• Analyze engine test data received from customers and provide technical support to the PQC team.
• Develop new product concepts including engine mounting, cooling, intake and exhaust systems; prepare BOMs, prototype drawings and oversee prototype builds.
• Prepare and share technical specifications, data sheets, and certification documents with customers.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of diesel engine applications (water‑cooled, air‑cooled, horizontal water‑cooled).
• Experience in managing multi‑disciplinary engineering projects and interacting with OEMs.
• Ability to translate customer voice into technical specifications and lead prototype development.
• Familiarity with product development tools such as DFMEA and DFS.
• Excellent analytical skills for engine test data interpretation and failure analysis.
