Deployment Strategist

About the role

As a Deployment Strategist you act as the critical bridge between a customer’s multi‑million‑dollar business challenge and Databricks’ technical solution. You own the non‑technical lifecycle of a Field‑Driven Engagement (FDE), partnering with Account Executives to build C‑suite trust, discover value, and define a pilot that demonstrates measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to perform deep discovery, map the customer organization, quantify business value ($10M+ problems), and define the pilot MVP, success criteria, and timeline.
• Author the Product Requirements Document (PRD), prioritize the engineering backlog, and act as the primary hands‑on QA tester.
• Drive the agile FDE build team, manage stakeholder communications from executives to engineers, and serve as escalation manager to unblock technical or political issues.
• Own Day 0 launch, run the war room, capture user feedback, iterate, and prove the defined business value.
• Scope ongoing maintenance, create documentation/training, and leverage trusted‑advisor status to identify next high‑value engagements.

Required profile

• Executive presence with strong C‑suite communication skills.
• Product‑thinking mindset able to perform SWOT analysis and define what to build and why.
• Relentless execution mindset, comfortable handling escalations and unglamorous tasks.
• 2+ years as a Deployment Strategist or in a high‑growth startup builder role, or 5+ years in a senior client‑facing product or delivery role at a top‑tier tech firm.
