Deli Assistant

About the role
The Deli Assistant will prepare high‑quality hot and cold deli products while ensuring that customer satisfaction remains the top priority. Working in a fast‑paced retail environment, you will serve shoppers, maintain display standards and share your passion for food.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes and sliced meats.
- Cook, assemble and display deli items throughout the day, adhering to portion‑control guidelines.
- Maintain the cleanliness and visual appeal of all fresh‑food counters and displays.
- Provide product knowledge, recipe ideas and personal recommendations to customers.
- Handle customer queries efficiently and in line with store policy.
Required profile
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving environment.
- Multi‑tasking capability and a genuine passion for food.
- Previous customer‑service experience is an advantage.
Required skills
- HACCP knowledge (training desirable but not mandatory).
