Dean – School of Engineering

About the role

The Dean of the School of Engineering will provide academic, administrative, research and strategic leadership for the engineering faculty. Reporting to the university’s senior management, the Dean will drive academic excellence, foster interdisciplinary research, strengthen industry collaborations and ensure compliance with national regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral engineering programmes.
• Ensure curricula align with industry needs, emerging technologies, NEP‑2020 guidelines and UGC/AICTE norms.
• Oversee academic delivery, assessment, outcome‑based education and experiential learning initiatives.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate and develop faculty, allocating workloads and promoting professional development.
• Promote high‑quality research, innovation, patents, consultancy and funded projects across engineering disciplines.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation bodies such as NBA, NAAC and other regulatory frameworks.
• Represent the school in university governance, external partnerships and stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology or a related discipline from a recognized university; a Master’s degree in a relevant specialization is required.
• Strong academic record with at least 10–15 years of experience in academia, research and administration.
• Minimum 5 years in senior leadership roles such as Professor, Head of Department, Dean or Academic Administrator.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, academic governance, accreditation processes and outcome‑based education.
• Familiarity with UGC, AICTE, NEP‑2020, NBA, NAAC and other regulatory frameworks.
• Evidence of research productivity, publications, patents or consultancy work is an advantage.
