DBT Developer – Data Transformation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced DBT Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data transformation solutions. You will work with Snowflake, SQL, Python, and SAS to build reliable ELT pipelines and collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data transformation workflows using DBT.
• Design, build, and optimise ELT pipelines on Snowflake.
• Write complex, performance‑tuned SQL queries for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Create reusable DBT models, macros, tests and documentation.
• Implement data quality checks and automated testing within DBT.
• Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation and integration.
• Maintain and optimise existing SAS‑based processes and migrate workloads as needed.
• Perform data modelling activities, including dimensional modelling and star‑schema design.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and improve performance, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, version control and CI/CD deployment processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with DBT.
• Advanced SQL skills with query optimisation.
• Proficiency with Snowflake data warehouse.
• Solid Python programming skills for data processing.
• Experience with SAS programming and data processes.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline development.
• Knowledge of data modelling and warehouse architecture.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
