DB2/Oracle Database Lead

About the role

3M is looking for a senior DB2/Oracle Database Lead to shape the future of its database landscape. You will work with global teams, drive cloud adoption, and ensure high‑availability services for critical data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long‑term database technology strategy, including cloud migration opportunities.
• Act as Product Owner for multiple database technologies and represent the Database team on cross‑functional initiatives.
• Enable 24‑hour “follow‑the‑sun” support and expand the Database Services capability worldwide.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation tools for lifecycle management and compliance.
• Participate in Agile Scrum teams, handling daily support, project work, and escalation of critical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years focused on DB2 and/or Oracle databases.
• 3 + years of experience supporting databases in AWS cloud environments and implementing high‑availability solutions.
• Proven technical project management and supervisory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
