Data Science Analyst – Credit & Fraud Risk

About the role

The Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Analytics & Data Science Center of Excellence at American Express is looking for a Data Science Analyst to develop, deploy and validate predictive models that drive profitable decisions across risk, fraud and marketing. You will work with large-scale data sets, collaborate with cross-functional teams and help shape the analytical foundation of the company’s financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and validate predictive models that support credit, fraud and marketing decisions.
• Analyze massive data sets to extract actionable business insights and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Leverage the Amex network to create closed-loop feedback loops that improve model performance.
• Stay current on emerging trends in finance, payments and analytics, and incorporate innovative approaches.
• Communicate findings clearly to leadership and key partners across prospect and customer domains.

Required profile

• MBA, Master’s or equivalent degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 0-30 months of experience in analytics, data science or related roles.
• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently on unstructured initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
