Data Engineer II (Azure, Databricks, Spark)

About the role

Join the 7‑Eleven Global Solution Center to own end‑to‑end data solutions that support over 84,000 stores worldwide. As a Lead Data Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and APIs on cloud platforms, delivering high‑quality experiences for app developers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data workflows using Azure, Databricks, and Spark frameworks.
• Implement software‑engineering best practices for API design, coding standards, and reusable service components.
• Ensure robustness, maintainability, and performance of data pipelines and related services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, wear multiple hats as needed, and quickly adopt new technologies.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of industry experience with 4+ years building big‑data systems.
• 3+ years experience in Azure cloud and Databricks setup.
• 3+ years developing Spark‑based data pipelines.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• 4+ years working with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Maven, Jenkins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; retail or e‑commerce exposure is a plus.
