Data Analyst I – Tech & Data

About the role

As a Data Analyst I on Uber’s Tech‑Data team, you will turn ambiguous business questions into data‑driven insights that guide operational and product decisions. You will work in a fast‑moving environment, partnering with engineering, product and operations to deliver analytical solutions that have real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Perform deep‑dive analyses on large datasets to uncover insights and recommend solutions to complex business problems.
• Design, build, and maintain data products such as dashboards and automated reports that give teams a 360° view of critical metrics.
• Translate vague questions into clear, data‑based recommendations and communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to develop analytics solutions and improve operational efficiency.
• Own data validation and quality‑assurance processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all outputs.
• Identify patterns, address technical debt and streamline processes to support evolving business priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a data‑focused role such as business analytics, intelligence, data science or data engineering.
• Proficiency in writing and understanding complex SQL queries.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
