Cyber Defense Incident Responder

About the role

The Cyber Defense Incident Responder will join the Information Security Group within the Risk function, operating from Mumbai, Chennai or Bangalore. The role focuses on detecting, investigating and responding to cyber incidents across the enterprise, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to protect the organization’s digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead real‑time incident handling, including forensic collection, intrusion tracking, threat analysis and system remediation.
• Perform incident triage to assess scope, urgency and impact, and recommend remediation actions.
• Analyze logs from hosts, networks, firewalls, IDS and other sources to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Document incidents from detection through resolution, producing structured reports and technical guidance.
• Serve as a liaison to law‑enforcement and intelligence analysts, correlating threat data and enhancing situational awareness.
• Monitor external threat feeds (CERTs, vendor sites) and recommend system improvements based on incident trends.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in engineering (BE/BTech) – preferred; postgraduate (ME/MTech) – preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in BFSI, IT/ITES or related sectors.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver real‑time incident response.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
