Custodial Specialist II

About the role

The Facilities and Business Operations department at the University of Central Florida is seeking a Custodial Specialist II to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient campus environment. This position combines routine custodial duties with project‑based deep‑cleaning tasks such as floor and carpet care, pressure washing, and restorative work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform deep‑cleaning and restorative projects, including hard‑floor care, carpet cleaning, stripping, and pressure washing.
• Execute routine cleaning for assigned campus areas in line with Custodial Specialist I standards.
• Gather and set up required supplies and equipment for each project.
• Identify deficiencies during inspections and submit work requests through the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS).
• Train and support team members on standard operating procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Maintain custodial equipment, monitor inventory, and restock supplies according to delivery schedules.

Required profile

• Completion of 9th grade (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of relevant custodial experience.
• Experience with floor‑care processes for hard surfaces, including pressure washing and stripping.
• Ability to operate small and large cleaning tools and equipment safely.
• Proficiency with standard office software and work‑order systems (IWMS).
• Conversational English communication skills and adherence to safety guidelines.
