Country Manager, India

About the role

The Responsible Mica Initiative is seeking a Country Manager for India to lead its mission of creating a fair, responsible, and sustainable mica supply chain. Based in Ranchi, you will report to the France‑based Programme Director and oversee a two‑year fixed‑term programme.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the three programme pillars: responsible workplace standards, community empowerment, and legal framework development.
• Engage with companies, civil society organisations, industry associations, and government bodies to drive multi‑stakeholder collaboration.
• Monitor progress against UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, SDGs, and OECD guidelines.
• Manage programme budgets, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Lead efforts to eliminate child labour and improve working conditions in the mica sector of Jharkhand and Bihar.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme or project management within NGOs, international development, or supply‑chain sustainability.
• Strong knowledge of the Indian mica industry and related social issues.
• Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in Hindi is essential.
• Ability to travel across Jharkhand and Bihar and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
