Country Financial Controller – India

About the role

Side is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function across India, covering both Bangalore and Hyderabad. This hands‑on leadership position will manage a small team while taking full ownership of management reporting, statutory compliance, month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a finance team of three, remaining hands‑on where needed.
• Own the monthly close and produce accurate P&L, balance‑sheet, cash‑flow and management reports for Group Finance and the parent company in Japan.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and Side Group policies.
• Manage local statutory and tax compliance, coordinating with external advisers.
• Lead the annual statutory audit and quarterly audit for the parent company, handling auditor coordination and issue resolution.
• Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, credit control, fixed‑asset accounting and cash management, enforcing strong controls.
• Implement and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls, driving process improvements.
• Prepare short‑ and medium‑term cash forecasts in line with Group Treasury requirements.

Required profile

• Strong controllership and technical accounting background.
• Proven ability to lead a small finance team and improve processes.
• Experience acting as a finance business partner to senior non‑finance stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and data‑quality ownership.
