Counter Staff – Café Operations

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Counter Staff member to run the day‑to‑day operations at the Garden Grub Café counter in Gurugram. You will be the first point of contact for customers, taking orders, handling payments and ensuring a smooth flow between the front‑of‑house and kitchen teams.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and deliver a professional, welcoming experience.
• Accurately take orders and relay them to the kitchen for timely preparation.
• Process cash, UPI, card and other digital payments, generate bills and keep precise transaction records.
• Maintain daily sales and payment logs and produce end‑of‑day collection reports.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to guarantee correct and prompt order delivery.
• Address customer queries, feedback and basic complaints courteously.
• Keep the counter area clean, hygienic and well‑organized.
• Monitor stock of packaging, beverages and other essentials, reporting any shortages.
• Hand over cash, records and pending orders properly at shift change.
• Follow company SOPs for billing, cash handling, hygiene and customer service.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in counter, café, restaurant, QSR, retail or hospitality operations.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Basic knowledge of billing/POS systems and digital payment methods.
• Good numerical ability and cash‑handling accuracy.
• Presentable, responsible, punctual and able to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
