Cost Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our offshore finance team in Bangalore, supporting the manufacturing business of Olde Thompson. Reporting to the Accounting Manager (India), you will handle product costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain standard cost data in SAP (CK11N / CK40N), including cost estimates, roll‑ups and annual updates.
• Execute standard costing runs for new and existing products in coordination with the Accounting Manager.
• Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP, assess component changes and their impact on product costs.
• Prepare product cost sheets and support techno‑commercial costing for new product launches.
• Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actual production costs against standards for material, labour and overhead.
• Investigate root causes of significant variances and produce clear variance reports.
• Calculate raw material cost percentages for mass‑production lines and flag lines exceeding benchmarks.
• Prepare mix, price and yield variance reports for raw materials against standard master batch specifications.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• CMA qualification.
• Ability to work in a structured, deadline‑driven, multi‑entity setting with US‑based stakeholders.
