Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will join the offshore finance team supporting the Olde Thompson manufacturing business. Reporting to the Accounting Manager (India), you will be responsible for product costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain standard cost data in SAP (CK11N / CK40N), including cost estimates, roll‑ups and annual updates.
• Execute standard costing runs for new and existing products in coordination with the Accounting Manager.
• Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP, assessing impact on product costs.
• Prepare product cost sheets and support techno‑commercial costing for new product launches.
• Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actual production costs against standards, covering material, labour and overhead.
• Investigate root causes of significant variances and produce clear variance reports.
• Calculate raw material cost percentages for mass production lines and identify deviations.
• Prepare mix, price and yield variance reports for raw materials against standard specifications.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• CMA qualification.
• Comfortable working in a structured, deadline‑driven, multi‑entity setting with US‑based stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP cost accounting modules (CK11N, CK40N).
