Cost Accountant (CMA)

About the role

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for group‑wide product costing, inventory valuation and cost control across all manufacturing units and branches of the Star Group. The role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing cost structures.

Key responsibilities

• Own group‑wide product costing, inventory valuation and cost control across all manufacturing units and branches.
• Product/SKU‑wise costing – BOM, conversion cost, power cost per kg, machine‑hour rates.
• Inventory valuation (AVCO) monitoring and reconciliation with GL/Trial Balance; WIP, scrap, and yield analysis.
• Monthly material, labour and overhead variance analysis with root‑cause commentary.
• Cost MIS, contribution and margin analysis by product group, unit and branch.
• Inter‑unit/branch transfer pricing and cost reconciliation.
• Support budgeting, statutory/internal audit and month‑end closing.
• Work in ERP (Manufacturing, Inventory, Accounting) – master data accuracy and cost reporting.
• Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Required profile

• CMA (ICMAI) qualification – mandatory.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with standard costing, absorption costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation.
• Familiarity with Indian GST regulations.
• Ability to prepare and analyse cost MIS and variance reports.

Required skills

• CMA (ICMAI) certification.
• Advanced Excel.
• Odoo ERP (preferred).
• Working knowledge of Indian GST.
