Corporate & M&A Attorney – Remote (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Corporate/M&A Attorney to join a leading AI‑focused client on a contract basis. Working remotely, you will apply your corporate law expertise to review and annotate complex legal and financial documents, ensuring they meet strict compliance and data‑privacy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and annotate corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and financial documents for regulatory compliance.
• Identify and mitigate personally identifiable information (PII) exposure, documenting anonymization best practices.
• Provide guidance on structural identifiability to balance data utility with privacy requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop training materials that reflect current compliance frameworks.
• Maintain detailed documentation of data‑handling procedures for audit and review purposes.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
• Minimum three years of experience in corporate law, M&A, or financial services with a focus on compliance and data privacy.
• Strong knowledge of PII risks, anonymization techniques, and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting best practices and advising non‑legal stakeholders.
