About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented copyeditor to join Notion Press, India’s leading book publishing platform. You will ensure manuscripts meet our high editorial standards and are ready for readers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Read manuscripts and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.
• Review edited work and incorporate author or editor comments.
• Rewrite passages to improve readability when needed.
• Suggest titles and subtitles based on author requests.
• Communicate with authors via comments, notes, calls, or email to resolve editing queries.
• Work independently and report progress to the senior editor.
• Perform language edits and quality checks to meet Notion Press standards.
• Maintain attention to detail and troubleshoot fast‑track or difficult manuscripts.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of editing experience.
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
• Strong writing and editorial judgment.
• Ability to give diplomatic feedback and clear instructions to first‑time authors.
• Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and make independent decisions.
• Awareness of best practices and trends in self‑publishing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Adobe tools.
• Familiarity with editing software such as PerfectIT or Grammarly.
