Controlling Specialist (m/f/d)

About the role

The Controlling Specialist will support the finance function of BASF Digital Hub Hyderabad by providing accurate cost analysis, budgeting and reporting for the assigned business area. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to deliver insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cost analysis, monitoring, reporting and budgeting for the assigned business area.
• Liaise with the Finance Manager and provide actionable insights for business development.
• Deliver reliable financial information to support management decision‑making and strategic planning.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, forecasting and budget planning.
• Lead and support automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives, improving reporting transparency.
• Monitor project cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking.
• Prepare and deliver clear presentations to management and coordinate ad‑hoc analyses.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Group’s accounting and controlling guidelines.
• Conduct training sessions for stakeholders to promote smooth processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Controlling or Accounting.
• Several years of relevant experience in business or controlling functions (preferred).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• High service orientation, proactive mindset and continuous‑improvement attitude.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus but not mandatory.
