Controller Testing Technician – Electrical Inspection & Calibration

About the role

The Controller Testing Technician is responsible for electrical inspection, testing, calibration and certification of wired control cabinets and equipment. The role works with multimeters, calibration meters and high‑voltage distribution panels, interpreting Electrical Wiring Diagrams and electrical CAD drawings across rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret Electrical Wiring Diagrams (EWD) to guide equipment inspection and testing.
• Perform detailed electrical inspection of control cabinets, verify wiring, cable sizes and terminal connections.
• Operate multimeters and master calibration meters to measure and calibrate electrical parameters.
• Conduct manual crimping of insulated, half‑insulated, high‑voltage AC and micro‑DC terminals.
• Handle high‑voltage three‑phase distribution panels and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Issue electrical inspection/certification documents to authorize equipment movement to the next process.
• Maintain accurate inspection and testing records and sketch electrical CAD drawings as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment testing, calibration and electrical inspection.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑voltage and three‑phase electrical systems.
• Ability to work across different shifts, including night shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electrical Wiring Diagrams (EWD).
• Multimeter and calibration meter operation.
• Electrical crimping tools for various terminal types.
• High‑voltage three‑phase distribution panel handling.
• Electrical CAD drawing preparation or interpretation.
