Controller / Manager – NetSuite (Hyderabad)

About the role

The Controller will lead end‑to‑end accounting activities for an operational consulting business based in Hyderabad. You will work closely with operations, consulting teams and the US‑based CFO to ensure accurate financial tracking, timely billing and reliable reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and perform bank reconciliations.
• Post journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments during period‑end closing.
• Prepare client invoices for time‑material, milestone‑based or manpower utilization projects and validate billable hours.
• Track receivables, follow up on outstanding payments and produce ageing reports.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing, and prepare MIS, revenue, cost and project profitability reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Process vendor invoices, consultant payments, employee reimbursements and payroll coordination.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including migration to NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

Required profile

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a services or project‑based environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, invoicing, receivables tracking and reconciliations.
• Mandatory exposure to payroll processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with the US‑based CFO and internal stakeholders.
• High ownership, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
