Contract Lead – PMC

About the role

The Contract Lead – PMC acts as the Owner’s commercial representative, overseeing contractual and commercial governance for large, complex infrastructure projects in power transmission, HVDC and hybrid renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Administer EPC, EPCM, PMC, Design‑Build and item‑rate contracts from award through close‑out, ensuring compliance with scope, milestones and payment terms.
• Lead preparation, evaluation and negotiation of variation orders, change requests, claims and extensions of time, performing delay and disruption analysis.
• Identify, evaluate and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, support pre‑award contract reviews and risk allocation analysis.
• Support procurement and legal teams in drafting and negotiating sub‑contracts, letters of intent and purchase orders, ensuring back‑to‑back alignment with the main contract.
• Collaborate with project controls, quantity surveying and finance to monitor budgets, forecasts and cost performance, and certify client invoices and payment certificates.
• Act as the primary commercial interface with clients, owners, consultants and EPC contractors, participating in progress reviews, negotiations and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying; postgraduate qualification or certification in contracts, commercial management or law is preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in contract/commercial management on large infrastructure or energy projects, preferably in PMC/EPC/EPCM environments.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, Silver Books) and Indian contracting practices.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contracts, conduct claim analysis and protect project margins.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel for costing, cash‑flow analysis and reporting.
• Experience with contract management systems and commercial reporting tools.
• Understanding of electrical transmission, HVDC, renewable energy (solar, wind, BESS) project interfaces.
