About the role
We are looking for a motivated Continental Chef (Commis) to join our kitchen team at CALCUTTA 64 in Kharagpur. This full‑time, on‑site position supports senior chefs in preparing and cooking continental dishes, ensuring consistency and quality for our guests.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in mise en place and preparation of continental menu items.
- Execute basic cooking tasks and follow standard recipes and portion sizes.
- Plate dishes according to presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
- Store ingredients properly and adhere to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service teams during service hours.
Required profile
- Strong interest in continental cuisine and food preparation.
- Basic culinary training or experience in a professional kitchen.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow instructions.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
Required skills
- Basic knife skills.
- Understanding of cooking methods and plating techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
