Construction Work Experience Placement for Students

About the role

Downwell Group offers a short‑term work‑experience placement lasting 1–2 weeks for Year 10 and Year 11 students. Participants will experience a real construction environment, gaining insight into enabling works, scaffolding, land remediation, asbestos removal and fire protection.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and assist on active construction sites under supervision.
• Learn basic health and safety procedures and environmental practices.
• Support teams across multiple service areas to understand daily workflows.
• Participate in briefings and debriefings to reflect on site activities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in Year 10 or Year 11.
• Interest in construction, engineering or related trades.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines and work in a team.

Required skills

• Basic health and safety awareness.
• Interest in environmental and site‑specific practices.
