Construction Safety Manager

About the role

The Construction Safety Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies across all project activities. You will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards and company procedures while fostering a proactive safety culture on site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and update project‑specific EHS policies, SOPs, safety plans, PPE protocols and work‑permit systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections, internal audits, scaffold and housekeeping checks, and monitor high‑risk activities such as working at height, confined spaces and crane operations.
• Perform detailed risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and prepare risk elimination action plans.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and enforce corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Organise safety inductions, refresher trainings, toolbox talks and emergency drills for workforce and contractors.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly EHS MIS reports and present performance dashboards to senior management.
• Develop and execute Emergency Response Plans, conduct evacuation drills and ensure readiness of fire‑fighting and rescue equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety management within construction or heavy‑civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, BOCW Act, ISO 45001 and local safety regulations.
• Ability to lead audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with engineers, contractors and regulatory bodies.
