Construction Estimator

About the role

Smart Build is seeking a Construction Estimator to join its growing renovation team. You will be responsible for producing accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for multifamily and commercial projects, helping the company deliver high‑quality, on‑budget renovations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precise quantity takeoffs using drawings, photos, videos, and field documentation.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Validate estimate accuracy through internal reviews and quality‑control processes.
• Source and verify pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and market data.
• Solicit, review, compare, and level subcontractor proposals.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining project requirements.
• Prepare detailed, client‑ready scopes of work and proposal content.
• Support change‑order pricing and proposal revisions as needed.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and field teams to gather missing information and improve estimate quality.
