Configuration Management Engineer

About the role

The Configuration Management Engineer will be responsible for controlling and releasing engineering documentation, master data and CAD data across product development and production. You will work closely with engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, maintain, control and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and associated master engineering documentation.
• Manage Engineering Procurement (eCart) documentation, including prototype level drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Administer master files in the Product Data Management (PDM) system and ensure records are up‑to‑date.
• Maintain material masters, Bills of Materials and change masters in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Oversee CAD data promotion in Pro/Intralink, ensuring consistency between PDM and CAD environments.
• Provide training and support for Number Book, eCart and ECO processes, responding to user queries via hotline, email and phone.
• Test new functionality in PDM, ERP and other engineering tools to safeguard daily operations.
• Develop and maintain ISO procedures, SAP scripts, work level instructions and best‑known methods.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in configuration management and a solid understanding of related engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and how configuration management integrates with procurement, manufacturing and quality.
• Ability to lead small projects and act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing complex data and proposing effective solutions.
• Effective communication skills to explain technical information and build consensus across teams.
