Computer Technician Level 1

About the role

The Manassas Park City Schools are seeking a Computer Technician Level 1 to deliver first‑line technical support to students and staff across the district. Working under the Director of Technology, you will install, configure, maintain and repair a variety of hardware and software assets that keep classrooms and offices running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, deploy and upgrade computers, laptops, Chromebooks, printers and peripheral equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and perform component‑level repairs on desktop and mobile devices.
• Create and maintain operating system images and device configurations.
• Respond to help‑desk tickets via in‑person, phone, email or remote tools.
• Coordinate warranty service, equipment returns and vendor replacements.
• Maintain accurate inventory, asset management records and service documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and support technology relocations throughout the division.
• Assist with district‑wide technology initiatives and special projects.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and ChromeOS installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
