Compression Molding Operator – SMC/DMC (Thermoset Components)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Compression Molding Operator to run our injection and compression molding machines that produce SMC and DMC thermoset components for electrical and electronic applications. The role is based at our Coimbatore plant and supports both domestic and export production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Operate injection and compression molding machines for DMC/SMC parts according to the production plan.
• Prepare and place charge material (DMC bulk or SMC sheet) into mold cavities.
• Set, monitor and adjust process parameters such as mold temperature, pressure and cure time to ensure consistent quality.
• Load and unload molds, perform basic mold cleaning and maintenance.
• Inspect molded components for visual and dimensional defects and coordinate with QC for rejection analysis.
• Maintain production logs and promptly report any machine or process issues.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling hot molds and press equipment.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in injection or compression molding, preferably with thermoset materials (SMC/DMC).
• Practical knowledge of press operations, mold setup and curing cycles.
• Ability to read and follow basic process sheets or work instructions.
• Attention to detail for identifying molding defects.
• ITI/Diploma in a relevant trade is preferred, but relevant shop‑floor experience is valued.
• Willingness to work in shifts as required.
