Completion Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

Vedanta Oil & Gas is seeking a Completion Engineer to lead well performance optimisation, field development planning and well‑intervention activities across its Indian asset portfolio. The incumbent will ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective execution of completion designs and interventions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Model wells to optimise production and improve performance.
• Develop field development plans and optimise well‑completion designs.
• Prepare Basis of Well Design (BOWD), well‑completion programmes and oversee daily operations.
• Manage well‑intervention operations, including coiled tubing, slick line and E‑line services.
• Integrate with geoscience, facilities and well‑engineering teams to enhance well performance.
• Prepare annual work plans and budgets for reservoir‑management activities.
• Review and validate well programmes and BOWD submissions, providing recommendations at decision gates.
• Ensure appropriate metallurgy and strength selection for completion and wellhead equipment.
• Review composition of completion brine, perforation strategies and artificial‑lift designs.
• Validate modelling tools and software (e.g., Prosper) used for well analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in well completion design, modelling and intervention in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong technical assurance capability with a focus on safety, cost‑effectiveness and reliability.
• Ability to work collaboratively with geoscience, facilities and production technology teams.
• Leadership mindset to drive optimisation projects and manage budgets.
