Commissioning & Installation Engineer – H₂S Scrubber Systems

About the role

CRA Energy is seeking a Commissioning & Installation Engineer to lead the installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and hand‑over of H₂S Scrubber Systems and related process equipment at customer sites across India and abroad. The role combines on‑site supervision, testing, and optimisation to ensure safe delivery and guaranteed H₂S removal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of scrubber columns, ducting, pumps, piping, chemical dosing systems and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with drawings, P&IDs and OEM specifications.
• Coordinate rigging, crane operations and site personnel for safe lifting and positioning of heavy modules.
• Perform pre‑commissioning inspections, hydrostatic, leak and pressure testing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Calibrate and commission field instruments such as H₂S gas analysers, pH, ORP and conductivity meters, flow meters and variable frequency drives.
• Execute dry and wet commissioning trials, validate airflow, pressure drop and H₂S removal efficiency (95‑99 %).
• Enforce H₂S safety procedures, conduct JSA, toolbox talks and risk assessments throughout the project.
• Troubleshoot issues, optimise system performance and prepare documentation for customer hand‑over.

Required profile

• Technical lead experience on site execution of process equipment projects.
• Ability to coordinate with project engineers, contractors, vendors and customers.
• Strong focus on safety and quality compliance.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings, P&IDs and GA drawings.
• Hydrostatic, leak and pressure testing of piping and equipment.
• Calibration of H₂S gas analysers, pH meters, ORP meters, conductivity meters, flow meters.
• Commissioning of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and rotating equipment.
• Installation supervision and mechanical alignment of heavy process units.
