About the role
The Commis III supports the culinary team at JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time, onsite position offers the chance to develop practical kitchen skills in a high‑standard hospitality setting.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix according to recipes.
- Cook and assemble dishes, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to food preparation checklists.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
- Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and maintain food safety standards.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and ensure proper storage.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment after each shift.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to the manager.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Required skills
- Food preparation techniques (portioning, chopping, measuring).
- Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves).
- Food safety and hygiene practices.
