Commis Chef – Continental (Full‑time)

About the role

Bruno's Cafe is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join its continental kitchen team. You will work on breakfast and café‑style menu items, supporting senior chefs in delivering consistently high‑quality dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking of continental dishes.
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and plating standards.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Help with stock rotation and inventory checks.
• Coordinate with service staff to deliver timely orders during shifts, weekends and peak hours.

Required profile

• Strong food preparation and cooking abilities with basic knowledge of continental cuisine.
• Good hygiene practices and understanding of food safety regulations.
• Effective communication to work with kitchen and front‑of‑house teams.
• Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant or hotel kitchen is beneficial.
• Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to menu changes and support an inclusive team culture.
