Commis 1 – Continental Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis 1 to join the Continental kitchen at Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road. The role involves supporting the culinary team in preparing and cooking a variety of Indian curry dishes in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mise‑en‑place and cook Indian gravies, dry, vegetarian and non‑vegetarian curry dishes following standardized recipes.
• Maintain portion control, minimize waste and ensure consistent quality.
• Keep the curry section clean, organized and compliant with HACCP and safety standards.
• Receive, store and rotate kitchen supplies safely.
• Collaborate with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak periods.
• Continuously develop skills related to Indian cuisine.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary Arts certification or diploma from a recognized institute is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Indian cuisine and curry preparation.
• Ability to execute mise‑en‑place efficiently.
• Understanding of HACCP food safety guidelines.
