Coastal Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Coastal Engineer to lead the planning, design and constructability review of coastal and marine infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing engineering drawings, specifications and technical method statements for a variety of maritime structures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and calculations for breakwaters, groynes, seawalls, revetments, jetties, quay walls, reclamation and shoreline protection systems.
• Develop technical method statements, work programmes and resource plans for coastal and marine works.
• Review physical and numerical model studies and interpret wave, tidal, current, littoral drift and metocean data for design validation.
• Assess scour protection, littoral drift management, dredging and rock‑armour/geotextile solutions.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years of experience in coastal, marine, port or waterfront infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Coastal, Ocean, Marine or related engineering discipline.
• Specialisation in coastal/marine engineering preferred.

Required skills

• Coastal and marine engineering design and calculation.
• Design of breakwaters, groynes, seawalls, revetments, jetties and quay structures.
• Interpretation of wave, tidal, current and metocean data.
• Scour protection and shoreline stabilisation techniques.
