Cloud Engineer, Data Platforms

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a hands‑on Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Databricks to accelerate the delivery and operational reliability of its data and AI workloads. The position is based in Bangalore and follows a hybrid working model, collaborating closely with the local Data Science and AI team.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure, and operate Azure Databricks workspaces, clusters, policies, and supporting Azure services.
• Enable production‑ready environments through runbooks, incident response, and release readiness processes.
• Support and harden ETL/ELT pipelines, including Delta Lake patterns, job orchestration, and performance tuning.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD pipelines for Databricks and Azure resources using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Apply least‑privilege access controls, secrets management, identity integration, and auditability in partnership with security and governance teams.
• Improve observability by enhancing logging, monitoring, and cost‑control mechanisms, and resolve platform or network issues affecting delivery.
• Participate in team stand‑ups, manage a backlog of tasks, and provide direct support for AI and analytics delivery.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience operating Azure Databricks in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot workspace, networking, and performance issues.
• Solid engineering discipline with a focus on automation, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Experience working in hybrid or collaborative team settings.
