Clinical Content Specialist (Pharmacy, Drugs & Biologicals)

About the role

CoverSelf is seeking a Clinical Content Specialist focused on Pharmacy, Drugs & Biologicals to develop and validate high‑quality clinical content for the US healthcare market. The role ensures that drug‑related concepts are accurate, compliant, and clinically relevant, supporting payment integrity and reducing erroneous reimbursements.

Key responsibilities

• Research, interpret and synthesize drug and biologic information from FDA labels, medical journals, and payer policies.
• Develop and validate content on dosage, medical necessity, safety, contraindications, adverse reactions, and off‑label use.
• Apply US healthcare coding standards (NDC, HCPCS/J‑codes, CPT, ICD, modifiers, revenue codes) to ensure correct reimbursement.
• Align content with CoverSelf policies, CMS, Medicaid guidelines, and other payer regulations.
• Extract rule logic from policies and correlate multiple literature sources to reach evidence‑based conclusions.

Required profile

• Passion for pharmacy and clinical work with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Solid foundation in pharmacy and clinical concepts, especially drugs and biologics.
• Experience in research, thesis work, or complex case‑study analysis.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate complex clinical data into clear insights.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.

Required skills

• Knowledge of US medical coding systems: NDC, HCPCS (J‑codes), CPT, ICD, modifiers, revenue codes.
• Familiarity with CMS, Medicaid guidelines and payer policies.
• Ability to interpret FDA drug labels, PubMed/NCBI literature, and other medical publications.
