Civil Foreman – Construction Site Supervisor

About the role

The Civil Foreman leads daily civil construction activities on site, ensuring work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role coordinates labour, materials, and subcontractors to keep the project on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil works, allocating tasks to masons, carpenters, bar benders, helpers and subcontractors.
• Verify that all work follows approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor labour productivity and optimise manpower utilisation.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers for daily planning and execution.
• Ensure availability of materials, tools and equipment before work starts.
• Inspect shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, plastering and finishing before execution.
• Maintain daily progress records and report status to the Site Engineer.
• Enforce safety policies, conduct toolbox talks and ensure proper PPE use.
• Monitor attendance, discipline and housekeeping on site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to meet timelines and report issues for corrective action.
• Verify completed quantities for billing or measurement.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• SSLC/Plus Two with relevant construction experience may also be considered.
