Civil Engineer – Solar PMC

About the role

The Civil Engineer will manage and supervise all on‑site civil works, structural installations, and infrastructure development for a gigawatt‑scale utility‑scale solar asset. The role focuses on massive piling campaigns for Module Mounting Structures, building robust foundations for heavy inverter stations and substations, and deploying extensive drainage networks to protect against flash flooding.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor grading, access roads, drainage, fencing, piling/foundations, cable trenches, equipment foundations and related civil interfaces.
• Verify dimensions, levels, embedments, concrete quality and workmanship against approved drawings and ITPs.
• Coordinate civil release of areas for tracker erection, equipment placement and electrical installation.
• Report non‑conformities, incomplete works and site‑readiness constraints to QA/QC and construction management.
• Support measurement verification with quantity surveying evidence and track civil punch‑point closure for handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 5–10 years of progressive civil engineering experience in heavy infrastructure, wind power or utility‑scale solar.
• 2–3 years of direct field execution on utility‑scale solar plants (150 MW+), leading large piling and foundation programs.
• Experience on mega‑projects in India is advantageous.
• High proficiency interpreting complex civil layout drawings, rebar schedules and topographic maps.
• Working knowledge of surveying instruments (Total Station, RTK GPS) and AutoCAD preferred.
