Chief Rolling Stock Expert – Metro Bids

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Chief Rolling Stock Expert to lead the technical definition and evaluation of metro rolling stock for upcoming bids across India. The role combines deep engineering expertise with coordination across multiple disciplines to ensure seamless integration of trains into metro systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical requirements for metro cars, covering propulsion, braking, HVAC, interior fit‑out and safety systems.
• Prepare tender specifications, assess rolling‑stock suppliers and verify compliance with bid criteria.
• Collaborate with signalling, telecom, track and depot teams to guarantee system‑wide integration.
• Oversee factory acceptance tests, dynamic trials and commissioning to meet performance and safety standards.
• Produce technical inputs, compliance matrices and design documentation for bid submissions.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 25 years of experience in railway or railway‑related industries.
• At least 5 years of experience with urban rail passenger‑carrying systems.
