Chief Rolling Stock Expert – BID Position

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Chief Rolling Stock Expert to lead the technical evaluation and delivery of rolling stock for metro projects in India. This senior position is pivotal for upcoming bids and will ensure that train systems meet all safety, performance and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical selection and evaluation of rolling stock systems against project specifications.
• Oversee design review, manufacturing, inspection and testing of metro trains, ensuring quality at every stage.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and internal project teams to manage interfaces and resolve technical issues.
• Review and approve technical documents, drawings and material submittals related to rolling stock.
• Support system integration, commissioning and acceptance testing with signaling, track and power subsystems.
• Monitor compliance with safety, reliability and performance standards and ensure certification requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership and training to engineers on rolling‑stock technologies and maintenance strategies.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 20 years of experience in rail, metro or major railway infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in writing and executing technical specifications for rolling stock.
