Chief Rolling Stock Expert (BID Position)

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Chief Rolling Stock Expert to lead the technical evaluation and delivery of metro rolling stock for upcoming BID projects across India. The role combines high‑level engineering oversight with coordination of suppliers, contractors, and internal project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation and selection of rolling‑stock systems to meet project specifications, safety and operational requirements.
• Oversee design review, manufacturing, inspection and testing of metro trains, ensuring quality at every stage.
• Coordinate with rolling‑stock suppliers, contractors and project teams to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and guarantee timely delivery.
• Review and approve technical documents, drawings and material submittals related to rolling stock.
• Support system integration, commissioning and acceptance testing to ensure seamless interaction with signaling, track and power‑supply subsystems.
• Monitor compliance with safety, reliability and performance standards and ensure all certification and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
• Provide technical leadership and training to project engineers on rolling‑stock technologies, maintenance strategies and best practices.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 20 years of experience on major rail, metro or railway infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in writing and executing technical specifications, design reviews and quality‑control procedures.
• Strong background in supplier management and multidisciplinary project coordination.
