Chief Resident Engineer – Design (Dam & Hydro Projects)

About the role

The Chief Resident Engineer (Design) will lead the design review and coordination for the Vishnugad Rishikesh Dam Project. You will ensure that all dam, spillway, powerhouse, tunnel and related designs meet regulatory standards and are delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate design drawings, GFC drawings and calculations for dam and hydro‑mechanical components.
• Coordinate with design consultants and contractors to secure timely submission, review and approval of deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Standards, CWC guidelines, dam safety norms and project specifications.
• Assess structural, hydraulic and geotechnical aspects, including stability, foundation treatment and seepage analysis.
• Manage design interfaces across civil, hydro‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical packages.
• Handle RFIs, provide technical clarifications and support the execution team on design issues.
• Prepare design review notes, technical reports and presentations for client meetings and assist the contract team in evaluating design‑related variations or claims.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in dam, spillway or hydro‑project design.
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.Tech in Structural or Hydraulic preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage complex design interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of IS codes, CWC guidelines and dam safety regulations.
