Chief Legal Counsel

About the role

The Fortune 200 organisation is establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India and needs a senior legal leader to build the function from day one. As Chief Legal Counsel you will act as the principal legal advisor to the centre’s leadership and shape the legal strategy for the entire operation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the legal strategy, structure and priorities for the India GCC.
• Advise senior leadership on corporate, regulatory and commercial risk.
• Design and implement policies, playbooks and governance frameworks.
• Oversee corporate governance, compliance, entity formation and regulatory engagements.
• Lead high‑value contracts, dispute management and liaison with external counsel.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of post‑qualification experience with exposure to leadership responsibilities.
• LLB with enrolment as an advocate (or equivalent qualification).
• Proven track record of building or running an in‑house legal function.
• Excellent written and spoken English and a reliable remote‑work setup.
