Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) – India

About the role

The Country Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in India will lead the implementation and oversight of the bank’s information security framework, ensuring alignment with global policies, regional guidance and local regulatory requirements. The role protects business functions, systems and data while acting as the primary liaison for cybersecurity matters across the Indian entity.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the application of group cyber‑security policies and standards in line with Indian regulations.
• Lead internal responses to regulatory requests, audits, inspections and cyber‑risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance, conduct gap analyses and drive remediation plans for local and global security standards.
• Implement the regional cybersecurity remediation program to strengthen prevention, detection and response capabilities.
• Provide guidance to Business Units and Service Units on cybersecurity topics, working closely with regional experts.
• Identify cyber‑risk exposures, evaluate security exceptions and ensure alignment with global standards.
• Manage local cyber‑incident response in coordination with central threat‑intelligence and incident‑response teams.
• Oversee penetration testing, vulnerability scanning and remediation activities to meet regulatory expectations.
• Participate in risk assessments, crisis management and business continuity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CISA) and extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership.
• Proven track record of implementing security frameworks in large, regulated organizations.
• Strong understanding of Indian cybersecurity regulations and global standards.
