Chassis Design Specialist

About the role

The Chassis Design Specialist will lead the design and development of foundation brake systems for commercial vehicles. This role covers end‑to‑end responsibility, from concept through detailed engineering, while coordinating with suppliers and ensuring compliance with performance, quality and homologation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop drum and disc brake systems for commercial vehicles, creating concepts, layouts and detailed engineering.
• Produce 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5/V6, ensuring GD&T compliance and internal quality standards.
• Maintain revision control, bill of materials and complete design documentation.
• Act as the technical liaison with suppliers, reviewing designs, drawings and validation reports, and supporting RFQ and supplier selection.
• Support validation activities including DVP, DFMEA, brake performance evaluation and durability testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing and testing teams, applying root‑cause analysis tools such as 8D and Fishbone.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, e.g., UNECE R13 where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or M‑Tech) degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in brake system design for commercial vehicles.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with suppliers and global cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
